Melbourne have acquired Josh Schache from the Western Bulldogs on the final day of the 2022 AFL Trade period, with the Dogs receiving a future fourth-round pick in exchange.
Schache played just seven games this season for the Bulldogs as he struggled to break into the side, exploring his options this trade period for more consistent game time.
Originally drafted in 2015 by Brisbane with the no.2 pick, the swingman went on to play 27 games with the Lions across his two years with the club before heading east to join the Bulldogs.
Throughout his five year stint at the Kennel, the 25-year-old played 45 senior games.
The trade for Schache adds to a busy trade period for the Demons, who have also welcomed Brodie Grundy to the club, while Luke Jackson, Jayden Hunt and Toby Bedford have departed the club.
The Bulldogs meanwhile, have been linked to contracted Docker Rory Lobb, with the two still yet to reach a deal for the forward.
The 2022 AFL Trade Period will conclude at 7:30pm AEST.
