Picking up Charlie Dixon from Gold Coast and Jimmy Toumpas from Melbourne, the Power have recruited in key areas, however it has left their chief recruiter Geoff Parker with his hands full.

They still possess a second round pick however, so a quality pickup is not out of the question.

Picks

32, 49, 86

Key Target

Jesse Glass-McCasker (Swan Districts, WAFL) – If there’s one area that the Power need to stock up on it’s in defence.

At times they shipped goals like no tomorrow.

At 196cm, West Australian Glass-McCasker could fit this billing after originally being earmarked by St. Kilda for around Pick 60.

The kid also has pace which should suit the Power’s lightning quick transition play.

Likely Picks

Cameron Hewett, Brandon White

Wildcard(s): Darcy Cameron (Claremont, WAFL)

A bit of a wild card, Cameron is a ruckman-cum-forward, something that Port also need after being linked with a few ruckman in the off-season (although that seems to be somewhat of a recurrence since 2009).

It’ll be Cameron’s third and probably last bite at the cherry to get picked up by an AFL club in the draft, so Port could snap him up on the cheap pick wise.

Where does this leave them: I would say a good strong defender and a backup ruck would put the ‘Power from Port’ in good stead for 2016.

Barring a surprise in the Pre-Season draft, and the possibility of Kane Mitchell being retained on the rookie list, it’s unlikely that we’ll see any more additions to an already strong Port squad.
