In 2015, St Kilda improved under coach Alan Richardson after winning their 27th wooden spoon in 2014. The Saints finished 14th with six wins, 15 losses and one draw to end their season.

Picking up Jake Carlisle and Nathan Freeman was a huge win for the Saints in trade period, picking up a key tall and a midfielder with great speed.

The Saints have three main picks to play with on November 24th with 14, 45 and 68. St Kilda originally had pick No. 5, but gave that up to Essendon to secure Jake Carlisle.

Picks

14, 45, 68

Likely

Bailey Rice (Dandenong Stingrays/VIC Country)

St Kilda will most likely secure father-son prospect Bailey Rice after the youngster of St Kilda and Carlton champion Dean Rice chose the Saints over Carlton as his club of choice. He is a great young prospect who can push through halfback onto the wing.

Other likely picks

Rhys Mathieson and Darcy Tucker

Wildcard

Jade Gresham (Northern Knights/VIC Metro)

Jade is a talented young midfielder and played well for the Northern Knights and VIC Metro, St Kilda might surprise a few if North doesn’t pick him up and grab Jade Gresham who has had a tremendous draft combine.

A pacey midfielder who can run up to the half forward and can kick a few goals, Gresham is likely headed to Arden Street, but could swerve and head to Seaford.

Where does that leave them?

St Kilda are slowly beginning to build a Premiership team, but need to secure another key backman to start challenging for the top eight. Once the players in the side begin to develop, they will be a team that can challenge for the flag. Rest easy Saints fans, Alan Richardson has the team going in the right direction.
