Sandringham Dragons star Finn Callaghan is widely considered the 'best of the rest' in terms of being the first pick outside of the predicted top three containing Jason Horne-Francis, Nick Daicos and Sam Darcy.
Of course, draft night always throws up some curveballs, however it seems as if the aforementioned trio are all but guaranteed to take up the first three picks, leaving Callaghan as the first draftee without a flagged destination.
The big-bodied midfielder made six appearances for the Dragons in season 2021 and managed to win Sandringham's best and fairest in a side brimming with top-drawer talent.

Callaghan managed to impress scouts in his limited number of games, averaging 24.3 disposals, 3.2 tackles and 4.5 marks per game.
With the midfielder spending time across half-back and half-forward in several of those matches, his averages are even more outstanding considering the strong competition he had to face.
There is one standout name that Callaghan has been compared to in the form of the mercurial midfielder Marcus Bontempelli - the highest praise that any youngster could garner at this point in time.
With GWS likely falling down to Pick 4 after Collingwood and the Bulldogs match bids for Daicos and Darcy, Callaghan's foray into the world of AFL football could happen in Western Sydney with all things going smoothly.

"Silky smooth wingman who has enjoyed an exciting rise in 2021. Callaghan's striking left-foot kicking, height, composure and goal sense left a mark on recruiters in the early stages of this season and he has separated himself within the top rung of prospects this year." - Cal Twomey
“(He’s got) a bit of Jackson Macrae or Josh Kelly about him I think. Very, very composed, lovely size at 189cm, beautiful athlete, normally uses the ball so well." - Kevin Sheehan
