Melbourne have unveiled new jumper numbers for eight players ahead of the 2024 season, with young defender Judd McVee swapping his locker while the Demons' trade and draft recruits have been handed their digits.

McVee will don the No.4 jumper made vacant by James Harmes' move to the Western Bulldogs, with McVee moving on from the No.41 he wore on 25 occasions this year.

Top draft selection Caleb Windsor will wear the No.6 jumper after it was made available through Brodie Grundy's move to Sydney, while fellow first-round pick Koltyn Tholstrup will don the No.39.

Tholstrup is the first to wear the 39 jumper since Neville Jetta, while father-son selection Kynan Brown will wear McVee's old jumper number.

Trade recruits Jack Billings (No.14), Shane McAdam (No.23) and Tom Fullarton (No.33) have also been handed their jumper numbers to start their new tenures in the red and blue.

Lastly, returning Demon Marty Hore will wear the No.27 in his comeback with Melbourne after previously pulling on the No.34 jumper on 14 occasions during his last stint with the club.

Elsewhere, Fremantle draftee Cooper Simpson is in line to become the first Docker to pull on the No.29 jumper since club great Matthew Pavlich last did in 2016.

Simpson was handed the famous guernsey ahead of his first season with Fremantle, with Pavlich presenting his old number to his former club's top draft selection.

Fellow draftees Ollie Murphy (No.33), Jack Delean (No.40) and Odin Jones (No.27) have been handed their jumper numbers, with Delean taking Karl Worner's number after the defender moved to the No.23 made vacant by Liam Henry's departure.

Jones' number sees the Rookie Draft recruit replace Heath Chapman, who has been given the No.5 jumper after Lachie Schultz's move to Collingwood.

Recent recruits Oscar McDonald (No.21) and Jeremy Sharp (No.14) have also been handed their numbers.

The club has David Mundy's famous No.16 without a home for the 2024 season.
