Collingwood half-back Isaac Quaynor has inked a contract extension that will tie him to the club until the cessation of the 2025 season.
The Oakleigh Chargers product has well and truly staked his claim across defensive 50 for the Pies, with the 22-year-old producing averages of 3.2 rebounds and 16.2 disposals across his 35 appearances in black and white.
Speaking after securing the Quaynor's signature, Collingwood's GM of Football, Graham Wright, gave a glowing of the Victorian's talents.
โWe see Isaac as an integral part of our future. He has already developed into a very good medium-sized defender and, in our view, there is so much growth ahead,โ Wright said.
โHe has talent and strength, is a model professional and is an excellent team-mate. Isaac can be a cornerstone of our team for a very long time.โ
With 20 of 22 possible games under his belt across the club's tumultuous 2021 season, Quaynor remained a guiding light down back, with pinpoint delivery thrusting Collingwood forward time and again.
In addition to Wright's comments, the member of the 22under22 representative side from last season expressed his delight about remaining a Magpie.
โItโs pleasing to know I have Collingwoodโs long-term faith and, equally, I was keen to make a commitment,โ Quaynor said.
โI feel that I can be my best at Collingwood. Itโs the right place for me and I was keen to acknowledge that. The fans and the crowds, the general environment, are superb and Iโm bullish about what is to come on the field."
As stated by the club, the Magpies' ability to retain the former first-round pick comes off the back of their agreements with Scott Pendlebury, Brayden Maynard, John Noble and Trey Ruscoe.
Quaynor and Collingwood are set to face Hawthorn and GWS in pre-season clashes across the course of the next month before their season proper commences on Friday, March 18 when they will travel to Marvel Stadium to do battle with St Kilda.
