West Coast Eagles youngster Jai Culley is likely to gain scrutiny of the Match Review Officer following a high hit on Gold Coast's Noah Anderson.
During the second quarter of Saturday's match between the Eagles and Suns at Metricon Stadium, Culley collected Anderson high with his right arm after the Gold Coast midfielder disposed of the ball.
Culley's swinging elbow made contact with Anderson's head, leaving his opponent in pain in the middle of the field.
Despite Anderson being able to play out the match so far, the incident will most likely see Culley handed a suspension by the MRO.
A grading of high contact, medium impact and careless conduct would see Culley hit with a one-match suspension.
Upgraded offences of either careless conduct to intentional conduct, or medium impact to high impact would see the charge bumped up to two games.
Should both gradings be increased, Culley would face a sanction of three matches for the hit on Anderson under a reading of intentional conduct, high impact and high contact.
A suspension of that level would see Culley's 2022 campaign concluded, with the Eagles scheduled to face Adelaide, Fremantle and Geelong to finish their home and away season.
Culley will be able to challenge the charge unless it is graded as intentional conduct and high/severe impact.
The 19-year-old joined the Eagles through the 2022 Mid-Season Draft in June, taken with the first overall selection.
