Premiership West Coast forward Jack Darling has penned a new deal to remain with the Western Australian club for another five seasons.
The 27-year-old has hit re-found form in 2019, as he continues to play a vital role in the Eagles' premiership defence, with the club looking to enter a fifth successive finals series.
Darling sits fifth in the clubs all-time goal scorers leaderboard, behind forward partner Josh Kennedy (581), Peter Sumich (511), Mark LeCras (441) and Phil Matera (389).
Since making his debut in 2011, Darling has played 188 games and kicked 358 goals in the royal blue and gold.
“I grew up supporting the Eagles, so to be here for my entire career is something I’ll look back on proudly,” Darling told the club's website.
“I always thought I was going to be a one-club player. I’m just really excited that the club has backed me in like they have my whole career. I’m really excited for the future.
“The challenge for us in 2019 is to play consistently over four quarters, so we’ve just got to make sure we play a good, consistent four quarters and make sure we qualify for finals as quickly as we can.”
Eagles' general manager Craig Vozzo expressed his delight with locking-in the future of the towering forward.
“We couldn’t be happier,” Vozzo said.
“He’s been a fantastic player and person for our footy club for many years now. We were lucky enough to get Jack through to us in the 2010 draft. The recruiters pulled off a gem there.
“He’s been the ultimate professional in everything that he does and to have him commit to us for the long term is fantastic. We’re hoping we can help him to be the best he can be and continue to improve even to that next level.”
