West Coast pair Shannon Hurn and Matt Priddis have both signed one-year contract extensions with the Eagles.

Hurn, now in his second year as captain, is now contracted until the end of the 2018 season, while Priddis, who was due to become a free agent as season's end, signed on until 2017.

The 28-year-old skipper has played 177 games and has become one of the most consistent performers in the league, finishing in the top two of the John Worsfold Medal in five of the past six years.

“It’s great to have the contract done and dusted early in the year,” Hurn said.

“I do like to lock it away sooner rather than later so that it doesn’t become a distraction and I can concentrate completely on the season ahead.”

Priddis, the 2014 Brownlow Medalist, said he was also thrilled to get the deal finalised prior to the start of the season.

“It means I can focus purely on my football,” Priddis said.

“It’s an exciting time at the club, we’re all looking forward to finally getting the season under way when we play Brisbane in round one on Sunday week.”
