Essendon confirm ACL injury to young forward

Scans gave confirmed Essendon youngster Irving Mosquito has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament after injuring his leg in Sunday's clash with Geelong, per essendondfc.com.au

The 20-year-old was assisted from the field after twisting his knee in the third term of the Bombers' 108-42 loss to the Cats.

Dan Richardson, general manger of on football for Essendon, said Mosquito has all the support from the club.

“Irving made an impressive debut during our Dreamtime game against Richmond and held his spot in the senior side for the past month.

“Irving will require surgery and the club will fully support him during what will likely be a traditional 12-month rehabilitation process.”
