In-demand Essendon defender Adam Saad is reportedly "leaning towards" Carlton as several clubs circle the out-of-contract star.

Reporter Tom Browne spoke of the latest updates surrounding Saad on Triple M's Hot Breakfast, suggesting the Blues

โ€œI mentioned Adam Saad yesterday, the Blues ramping up their efforts,โ€ Browne said.

โ€œIโ€™m told this morning that heโ€™s leaning towards the Blues.

โ€œHe hasnโ€™t officially left the Bombers yet, but the Blues have made a very attractive offer.

โ€œHeโ€™s got four or five clubs into him.โ€

It is understood that Saad is also on the radar of North Melbourne, while Essendon continue to press hard to retain their pacey defender.

Saad is believed to be after a five-year deal, with the Bombers only having offered a four-year contract to the 26-year-old.
