Essendon, North Melbourne confirm new jumper numbers

Two more clubs have locked in new digits for their off-season recruits.

Both Essendon and North Melbourne have unveiled the new jumper numbers for their respective recruits ahead of the 2025 season.

The Bombers have handed out the guernsey numbers for their eight new players, while Archie Roberts (No.21) and Jye Menzie (No.29) have taken the digits of retired pair Dyson Heppell and Jake Kelly respectively.

Essendon's top draft selection Isaac Kako has been handed the No.10 jumper, which was made available after Sam Weideman's departure.

Fellow rookies Kayle Gerreyn (No.19). Angus Clarke (No.36), Rhys Unwin (No.38), Zak Johnson (No.40), Jayden Nguyen (No.42) and Archer Day-Wicks (No.44) have been handed their guernseys also.

Essendon's most recent addition, SSP signing Jaxon Prior, will wear the No.25 in the red and black.

Meanwhile, North Melbourne have also handed out their new digits for 2025, with eight jumpers being claimed.

Pick 2 draft selection Finn O'Sullivan will don the No.2 after it was made vacant this year, with the retired Jaidyn Stephenson the most recent holder of the jumper.

Other Roos draftees in Luke Urquhart (No.14), Matt Whitlock (No.35) and River Stevens (No.36) have been given their guernseys also.

Veteran recruit Luke Parker will wear the No.26 - the same number he had during his decorated career with Sydney. with fellow trade recruits Caleb Daniel (No.5), Jack Darling (No.28) and Jacob Konstanty (No.41) getting new numbers.
