Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro spoke on AFL Trade Radio on Wednesday surrounding the trade situations for Adam Saad and Orazio Fantasia.

Dodoro provided an update on the pair after the club asked for high draft picks in exchange for the two Bombers, coming after both deals hit a bump due to the Dodoro's demands.

Dodoro believes both clubs will find a middle ground for the Saad deal to prevail.

โ€œHeโ€™s (Saad) made it quite clear that he would like to get there,โ€ Dodoro said.

โ€œHe finished top three in our best and fairest the last three years, heโ€™s the best metres gained player in the competition and is clearly one of our better players.

โ€œWe want fair compensation for him. Itโ€™s incumbent upon them to come to us.

โ€œI think thatโ€™s a fair deal (pick eight for Saad). If you look at all the deals over the previous years that thatโ€™s a fair deal.

โ€œCarlton isnโ€™t being unreasonable, but weโ€™re discussing certain elements of that trade.

โ€œAs I said, weโ€™ve had some chats and itโ€™s all going reasonably well at the moment and I think weโ€™ll get a quick resolution to it.

โ€œTheyโ€™ve got a position, weโ€™ve got a position and weโ€™ve just got to meet somewhere in the middle.โ€

Dodoro confirmed that the offer put forward from Port Adelaide for Fantasia is nowhere near what they want, with the Power offering a second-round selection for the forward.

โ€œItโ€™s incumbent upon them to come to us at this point in time,โ€ Dodoro said.

โ€œPick 28 is something thatโ€™s going to blow out into the mid-30s in this draft so itโ€™s not something thatโ€™s appealing to us.

โ€œ(Orazio) knows he has a contract and heโ€™s happy to come back and have a great year here next year.โ€
