Youngster Archie Perkins has put pen to paper, recommitting to another two years at Essendon.
Becoming a mainstay in the line-up since being taken with Pick 9 in the 2020 National Draft, Perkins has added 71 games to his name.
Playing predominantly across half-forward, the 22-year-old has leapt more midfield time, paying dividends for the club that sits second on the AFL ladder.
The Perk-fect news.

With the Bombers looking likely to return to finals, and hopefully break the 20-plus year drought without a win in September, Perkins was excited by what the group could achieve.
โI love being a part of this group. I feel we are moving in the right direction and I'm so excited in where we are heading,โ Perkins said.

โI am loving the journey we are on and am so committed and determined to improving as a player to be a great contributor to the side.
โI'm so impressed and proud of the way everyone is attacking the season and can't wait to get out there again this weekend.โ

GM of AFL Daniel McPherson said the club was thrilled to have Perkins commit for at least the next two years.
โArchie has become a key part of our side over the past four seasons and his growth this year has further cemented his importance for the future,โ McPherson said.
โHe has played a different role this year, spending more time in the midfield and at contests. Archie is a focused and driven person who will embrace any challenge, which has been reflected in his stats this year.

โWe look forward to seeing where Archie can take his footy over the coming years and will be a key pillar of our side for years to come.โ
In round one against Hawthorn, Perkins began the year in strong fashion, collecting a career-high 24 disposals, 12 tackles, eight clearances and two goals.
Since then, the Sandringham Dragons product has been impressive, averaging a career-high 18.7 disposals, 4.6 tackles, 3.2 clearances and 3.3 marks.
Perkins and the club have been the surprise packet of the season, sitting with eight wins and a draw after 12 games.
The Bombers will look to return to the winner's list after falling shy of Gold Coast when they take on Carlton on Sunday at the MCG.
