Richmond superstar Dustin Martin took home the 2017 Brownlow Medal with a record 36 votes on Monday night, and finished 11 votes ahead of Hawthorn's Tom Mitchell in second place.
Sydney midfielder Josh Kennedy rounded out the top three with 23 votes, although the count would have been a lot closer had Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield not been suspended.

For the clubs, both Adelaide and Sydney had the highest vote count of any side with 88 each, as Port Adelaide were close by with 84.
