Former three-club AFL forward Mitch Brown has turned to local footy after calling time on his professional career, joining Southern Football League club Mordialloc.

2022 saw Brown appear in three games for Melbourne in games against Sydney, Collingwood and Adelaide at AFL level, where he averaged eight disposals and kicked two goals.

The trio of matches added to his career tally of 79 games in 13 seasons in the AFL system, which was shared across stints with Geelong, Essendon and lastly Melbourne.

Brown announced his retirement from the league last month, and will now pull the boots back on for Mordialloc from next year.

The Division 1 side have signed the 32-year-old to a multi-year deal off the back of his premiership-wining campaign with Casey in the VFL.

"MFNC are excited to announce the signing of former Geelong, Essendon and Melbourne AFL player Mitch Brown for at least the next two seasons," a club post reads.
