Former three-club AFL star Paddy Ryder was again terrorising opponents at the local level this weekend, booting 11 goals in a 204-point win in the Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League.
Playing for Divison 2 club Devon Meadows, Ryder kicked almost a third of his side's 36 majors against Hastings when the two clubs met in Glover on Saturday.
The Panthers' thrashing of Hastings stunningly could've been heavier, with the home side booting 36.20 to post a score of 236 while holding Hastings to just 5.2.
Ryder kicked 11 majors to lead all goalkickers for the day, with three teammates booting four or more goals to also contribute to the comfortable win.
After a seven-goal-to-nil opening term, Devon Meadows kicked away in the second quarter with 14 further goals before the main break to lead 134-7 at half-time.
It wasn't the first time Ryder has gone past double digits for goals in a game for the local club, with the 36-year-old slotting ten majors last year in a win over Rye.
Ryder has been an impactful signing for the Panthers, who are yet to win a senior premiership, as they look to return to the top flight of the MPFNL.
The former Essendon, St Kilda and Port Adelaide star brings 281 games of AFL experience to the grassroots level and won best and fairest honours and an All-Australian selection in 2017 with the Power.
Ryder's ex-Saints teammate Dean Kent also featured in the victory, captaining Devon Meadows to their second win in as many weeks.
Devon Meadows sit atop the ladder with a percentage of 289.57% and will face Bonbeach in Round 3 in a bid to continue their undefeated start to 2024.
