Former Carlton and Collingwood AFL player Health Scotland has been appointed as Bundoora Football Netball Club seniors men's head coach for 2024.
Scotland joins the club after a successful year as the coach of Deek Park, who won the Division 1 premiership in the EDFL in 2023.
Before coaching, Scotland played 268 games for both his respected clubs Carlton and Collingwood. His career included playing in two grand finals, winning an All-Australian squad selection in 2011 and he was winner of Carlton's best and fairest in 2012.
Since retiring, Scotland has had various coaching roles at North Melbourne, Port Adelaide and the Northern Bullants. He will bring a wealth of experience to Bundoora in 2024.
Bundoora President Paul King revealed how excited the club was to have Scotland on board as senior men's coach.
โWe are thrilled to attract such a quality person in Heath Scotland," King said in a club statement.
"Heath has had an exceptional AFL career and transitioned to coaching upon his retirement.
"He has extensive coaching experience having held AFL / VFL Assistant and Development roles and more recently was the architect of multiple premierships in local football.
"We are excited to have someone of Heath's calibre working with our coaches and players and believe his knowledge of the game and his commitment to development will be ideal for our Club."
Bundoora Division 1 men's team finished third on the ladder in 2023 and played in this year's grand final, where they lost to Heidelberg in a close match.
The Bulls have recently been home to former AFL players David Zaharakis, Neville Jetta, Sam Lloyd and Shaun McKernan.
