Ex-Hawthorn forward Ollie Hanrahan has shrugged off the disappointment of being delisted at the conclusion of 2021 with a strong start to the VFL season for Werribee, attracting interest ahead of the mid-season rookie draft.
Hanrahan's 29-game career at the Hawks came to an end despite a career-high 13 games in his fifth year on the list, where he was deployed as a half-forward.
He was named the Hawks' best first year player in 2019.
Under the tutelage of ex-AFL midfielder Michael Barlow, Hanrahan has fashioned himself into a ball-winning, goal-scoring midfielder for Werribee - averaging 25.4 disposals and 4.8 tackles per game.
Hanrahan received a club-high five coaches votes for his performance in Werribee's defeat at the hands of Gold Coast, where he accumulated 28 touches, five tackles, five clearances and a goal.
According to AFL.com, at least two clubs are interested in Hanrahan with the mid-season draft to be held next month.

Despite playing the last three games of the 2021 season, Hanrahan was cut - admitting on SEN at the time he was "shocked" by the decision.
โI thought I had a pretty good year, was happy with how I went and at the end of the day, everything happens for a reason,โ Hanrahan said.
GWS and St Kilda initially were interested in Hanrahan as a delisted free agent, but the forward eventually signed with Werribee after he was overlooked at the draft.
Hanrahan is a keen and talented cricketer, and used his time off last summer to play for Kingston Hawthorn Cricket Club in Melbourne's Premier Cricket competition.
