Glenelg defender and ex-Sydney Swan Will Gould has been handed a three-game suspension by the SANFL following an off-ball incident during Sunday's premiership-clinching win.
The incident in question came midway through the opening term of the 2024 SANFL Grand Final, with footage capturing Gould flooring Norwood's Finn Heard from behind.
Heard did not return to the game due to an elbow injury in what was an early injury blow for the Redlegs in their eventual five-point defeat.
The SANFL's Match Review Panel has since charged Gould with rough conduct for his actions on Heard, which have been graded as intentional conduct, body contact and severe impact.
The charge has resulted in a three-game suspension being offered to the Tigers recruit, who could now miss the opening rounds of the 2025 season if the offence is not challenged.
Gould wasn't the only Glenelg defender to be handed a suspension from Sunday's flag win as former St Kilda youngster Oscar Adams has been charged with rough conduct for a high bump on Redlegs player Mitch O'Neill.
The incident in question occurred during the dying stages of the thrilling contest at Adelaide Oval, with Adams collecting O'Neill shortly after the latter disposed of the ball in the middle of the field.
The MRP graded Adams' actions as careless conduct, high contact and medium impact to offer Adams the one-game suspension and place the start of his next season in doubt.
Other charges from the grand final see Gould offered a $125 fine and reprimand for a rough conduct charge on Sam Morris, while O'Neill has been hit with the same sanction are being charged with forceful front-on contact on Chris Curran.
Glenelg claimed their seventh premiership with a memorable comeback win over minor premiers Norwood, booting eight of the last 11 goals to secure victory by less than a kick.
