No one has ever trusted Richmond legend, turned Sportsbet Ambassador, Nathan Brown and the tips he gives each week (we hope not anyway). Especially now since an X account was set-up called TrackMyBrown which provides the results of his tips each week with a hypothetical stake of $20. After Round 8, Browny's tips would have you at a loss of $425.40.

Pretty much all expert tipsters that you know of (Gary Lyon, Kane Cornes, Anthony Hudson) just provide their tips for the week, and don't actually suggest a certain bet with odds - so we can't calculate their ROI (return on investment).

However, most of the free AFL Tipsters do not follow up with their results or showcase their ROI. Plus, I've never heard of anyone who has paid for one of those $50 a month free tips services, to be happy with their investment.

Here is the season to date performances for some of the most popular free AFL tips websites in Australia.

My Betting Sites Australia: 121% ROI from 140 Tips

Bookmaker comparison website My Betting Sites Australia has the best AFL Tips online. They strictly only give AFL tips, and actually do show their ROI (modestly boasting about it), and have their historical tips readily available.

The lads at My Betting Sites provide two bets on every single AFL game, one being a head to head or line bet, and the other is a 3-4 same game multi, usually with pretty aggressive odds but they often manage to land them.

Kruzey: 111% ROI from 68 Tips

The next best tipster is from another bookie comparator, Kruzey. Kruzey provide AFL, NRL and horse racing tips - however the horse racing tips are all done by Michael Kruse, while Ben Harris does all the AFL and NRL tips.

Ben certainly puts some effort into his pregame analysis, but only gives one tip per game, which is normally a margin or line bet. Ben is one of the few free tipsters who you wouldn't have lost money from this year, if you followed every tip.

GoBet: 103% ROI from 72 Tips

GoBet try to cover all bases with their tips and offer them in Horse Racing, AFL, NRL, Super Rugby, NBA, NBL and more. However, it is the same guy that provides their tips for all of the above, which is a lot of codes to be an expert for.

GoBet don't give their punters much info about the upcoming games, and only provide one tip per AFL game, which is generally just the line bet. Considering the line is almost a flip of a coin, GoBet are only just above that win margin. But to be fair, they are still in the green and not the red, which is better than most.

Before You Bet: 86% from 143 Tips

Alike GoBet, Before You Bet provides tips in many different sports, including Racing, AFL, NRL, NBA, A-League and UFC. However, unlike GoBet, Before You Bet offers a team of tipsters, each with a few sports in their niche to tip with.

A couple of their tipsters do their AFL tips, and they probably give the most in-depth preview, but their results say otherwise. Before You Bet give two bets every AFL game, one being usually a head to head or line bet, and the other a same game multi. The extra same game multi bet rarely gets up, which brings their average down.
