A total of 61 draft prospects have been invited to this year's National Draft Combine, with father-son selections and siblings of AFL stars included in the list of invitees.
The combine will take place across the week following the 2023 AFL Grand Final from Friday, October 6 to Sunday, October 8. Last year's combine included standing vertical jump, running vertical jump, agility run, 20m sprint and 2km time trial tests.
This year's crop of draft hopefuls will take to the combine, with headline prospect Harley Reid one of 13 Vic Country players invited. Vic Metro (16 invitees) lead the way, with all of Western Australia (12), South Australia (seven), Tasmania (five), Queensland (four), NSW-ACT (three) and the Northern Territory (one) having representatives feature.
Top draft prospects Nick Watson, Colby McKercher, Jed Walter, and Nate Caddy are also on the list of invited players. Caddy, the nephew of former Richmond premiership player Josh, is among the handful of familiar surnames to make the cut.
Zane Duursma (brother to Port Adelaide pair Xavier and Yasmin), Archer Reid (brother of Essendon's Zach), Vigo Visentini (brother of Port Adelaide ruckman Dante) and Aiden O'Driscoll (brother to Fremantle pair Nathan and Emma) all have siblings in the AFL or AFLW.
Father-son prospects on the list include Will McCabe (son of ex-Hawk Luke) and Jordan Croft (son of former Bulldog Matthew).
A further 20 prospects will take part in state-level combines across Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia in October, with more prospects to be added later this month.
