Myles Stedman picks his best players of the round.

James Sicily (Haw) - disposals: 15, marks: 6, kicks: 6 goals: 4.2

While he was was not best on ground in Hawthorn’s impressive win over West Coast, James Sicily enjoyed the best outing of his short career so far.

Four goals mixed in with a decent around-the-ground performance should give the young forward some confidence that he can perform in what is a star-studded Hawthorn lineup.

Alex Fasolo (Coll) – disposals: 14, marks: 6, kicks: 12, goals: 6.0

Coming off an embarrassing loss to Sydney and seemingly against all odds, the Magpies found a way to resurrect some pride against the Tigers on Friday night.

A big reason for the late, late fightback by Collingwood was the six goal haul from Alex Fasolo. He kicked cluthc goals when it mattered and show great poise on the big stage under pressure.

Joe Daniher (Ess) - disposals: 21, marks: 15, kicks: 14, goal: 2.4

Joe Daniher really started to hit his straps late last year and he picked up where he left off this season with a scary performance in the shock win over Melbourne.

While he didn’t have his kicking boots on, his 15 marks showed exactly why he was predicted to be the No.1 draft pick before Essendon stole him a few picks later via the father-son rule.

Tom Lynch (Adel) - disposals: 21, marks: 8, kicks: 5, goals: 6.1

With his 6.1 and 21 disposals, Adelaide's Tom Lynch has signaled his intent for 2016.

His name sharing partner who plays on for Gold Coast could have also taken this spot, but Adelaide’s version was everywhere in his side’s impressive Showdown win.

Lachie Hunter – disposals: 35, marks: 10, kicks: 19, goals: 1.0

The Western Bulldogs already have everyone wondering just how good they can be this year, likewise with one of their young stars Lachie Hunter.

Hunter put in what was surely the best performance of the round, amassing 35 touches, taking 10 marks and kicking a goal for good measure.

He has also just put pen to paper on a new deal tying to the club until the end of 2019, adding another integral piece in the Bulldogs' premiership puzzle, with several key young stars now all signed up.
