West Coast has been battered and bruised this season, finishing last with a record of three wins and 20 losses and a percentage of just 53%. It's been a hard year to watch the Eagles, who suffered multiple 100+ point losses.
But how can the Eagles turn this around and get back to their best? Coming into this off-season with the first pick, you would expect them to come in all guns blazing, but as intentions to rebuild via the draft seem like a promising way to get back on track, they should also look at the players available on the market.
As injuries have slowly become a large problem for West Coast, here are our five trade targets for the Eagles to consider.

The viral Lion has been hinted at heading home but mixed reports mention that he is leaning toward staying in Brisbane. But regardless, the Eagles should be looking to put something forward in the hopes of boosting their midfield.
Robertson has been in and out of the side for the Lions, becoming the next man up usually in the event of injury. Despite the inconsistencies with selection, he still finds himself playing crucial roles in the Lions' lineup, but has neither had an explosive performance in his four years at the club.
Over his 38-game career, Robertson has averaged 11.2 disposals, 3.6 tackles, and 1.2 clearances. 2021 was easily his best year with 13.1 disposals, 4.2 tackles, and 1.1 clearances, but despite the lack of game time, he has truly been able to show his potential.
With the Eagles circling younger players, could a move back home finally unlock the full potential Robertson possesses?
With Brockman seen likely to be heading back home, the Eagles are believed to be right there to pick him up from the airport. Recent talks between Liam Ryan and Brockman could help secure the potential deal.
26 matches over three years benefit the cause to acquire the services of Brockman. With little play time, he will now be moved into a more prominent role for the Eagles as their intentions to remain young seeming look to continue.
Since not playing in the 2022 season due to injury, and the 11 games he was a part of in 2021, 2023 has easily been his best season with 11.1 disposals, 3.3 marks, and 2.3 tackles per game which has boosted his skillset as a livewire forward. Brockman has also kicked 13 goals from his 15 games this year.
Not to mention he will be under the mentorship of Ryan, so his career could grow further at the Eagles with the guidance.
Another dangerous small forward for the Eagles must just be the key to reigniting the spark that had them as a top side back in 2018.
With the season all over for Georgiades, he has had plenty of time to think over the possibility of moving back home to Western Australia and which club that might be. While Port Adelaide look to be confident in Georgiades hanging around, the talks of a trade are yet to disappear.
With the Eagles struggling to hold the ball in the forward 50, Georgiades could be the man for the job after learning his craft under Charlie Dixon. With injury abruptly ending his season, he hasn't been able to show off his skills this season. From his two games this year, he averaged 13.5 disposals and six marks and seemed on track to perhaps record a career-best season before both form and injury played their part.
2022 was arguably his best year with 10.7 disposals, 4.7 marks, and 2.1 tackles that boosted his impact around the forward 50 whether the ball was in the air or on the ground. He also kicked 23 goals that season but fell short of the 32 he kicked the previous year.
Could Georgiades and Oscar Allen combine to lift the Eagles into a better position?
Georgiades isn't the only Port Adelaide player to feature on our list, with Teakle following suit. The lack of appearances for the senior side has raised an opportunity to return to Western Australia.
With four appearances out of six for this season, the premiership contenders have opted to stick with as much of the same lineup as possible to ensure consistency in their run to September. With not much sample size, he has averaged 9.7 disposals, 1.8 clearances, and 5.5 hitouts to advantage, wit Teakle another to battle with injuries while also being trialled as a defender in 2023.
The dynamic ruck could be another crucial piece to the Eagles' rebuild. A ruck that can also participate as a forward or back may give West Coast more flexibility in their team alongside Bailey Williams.
Coming out of contract this year, Perez hasn't received much traction as to whether he will remain a Kangaroo or if he will be on the move. But with the Eagles' defensive issues, the younger option in Perez should appeal to the Perth side.
Due to selection issues, Perez just hasn't been able to crack into the side as often as he might like. He has been in the team 24 times over his four-year tenure, with an ACL injury playing its part, but a deal that would guarantee more playing time might just convince him to make the move. His career numbers read as 11.6 disposals, 3.1 marks, and 2.2 tackles.
Since he wasn't appearing enough in the AFL, his VFL numbers became stronger, with 21.6 disposals, 4.5 marks, and 2.2 tackles per game.
Perez has become a case of too good for the VFL but no spot in the AFL. With this in mind, he could play a role alongside Alex Witherden and Jeremy McGovern in defence and become a strong player in a weakened Eagles defence.
