West Coast looks set to be a major player in this year's trade and free agency space, while the Eagles also plan to have an aggressive approach for this year's AFL Draft.

Any major list calls will likely wait on the appointment of the club's next senior coach, with the Eagles' search for Adam Simpson's replacement ramping up in recent days.

Amid the hunt, new list manager Matt Clarke will be doing his best wheeling and dealing to try and pry the club's desired trade targets west, with several Western Australians already linked to the Perth club.

Ahead of the next step in West Coast's rebuild, we look at five trade options for the Eagles to consider heading into the off-season.

OTHER TRADE TARGETS:ย ADELAIDE,ย BRISBANE,ย CARLTON,ย COLLINGWOOD, ESSENDON,ย FREMANTLE, GEELONG, GOLD COAST, GWS, HAWTHORN, MELBOURNE, NORTH MELBOURNE, PORT ADELAIDE, RICHMOND, ST KILDA, SYDNEY

1. Liam Baker

A name that has been strongly tied to the Eagles across the course of 2024 given his contract at Punt Road is nearing an end.

Baker had strong interest from WA in 2022 but turned his back on a move back to his home state in favour of recommitting to Richmond on a two-year extension.

With that contract now reaching its conclusion, a three-club battle for Baker's signature has broken out, with the Eagles looking to outbid the Tigers and Fremantle for the gun utility's services.

Baker's leadership, grit and versatility would be a welcome addition to the Eagles' squad, while teammate and close friend Jack Graham's flagged move to West Coast could help give the Eagles an edge in their pursuit of the dual premiership Tiger.
