While the Suns are looking toward an exciting future under new coach Damien Hardwick, the club's socials team have decided to remind the former Richmond coach of his past.

Getting comfortable in his new role up in Carrara, Hardwick was on the end of a cheeky 'blind reaction' clip request from his colleagues, with the triple-premiership coach made to watch the final minutes of a famous Suns win over his Tigers.

Richmond's Round 17 trip to the Gold Coast in 2022 saw the Suns pull off one of the more memorable wins in their short time in the league, booting the last four goals of the game to win by two points.

Suns sensation Noah Anderson famously marked the ball with 27 seconds left in the game and went back to slot home the match-winning major, handing Hardwick's Tigers the seventh loss of their season.

Now donning a red and gold polo, Hardwick was unknowingly forced to rewatch the 2022 Suns win this week, with the champion coach left with mixed emotions.

"F**k you blokes," Hardwick laughed upon realising what he was reacting to.

"I must admit, as soon as he marked it I thought 'kick it to anyone else but this jet'. God, it's funny isn't it?

"How did Richmond get in this situation? I think we were three goals up from memory. I still remember the noise after this play. Now I can laugh.

"The noise is incredible, and that's what we're dying to get a part of. Now finally I can stop hating Noah Anderson and love him."

During his time at Punt Road, Hardwick lost six of his 13 games against the Suns, with perhaps the most memorable being Karmichael Hunt's match-winning goal in 2012.

Hardwick's first games as coach of the Suns will come against hs old club at Heritage Bank Stadium on Saturday, March 9.

It will also be the first game for new Richmond coach Adem Yze, who succeeded Hardwick following his resignation in May and Andrew McQualter's interim phase.

The Suns will also face Brisbane and GWS from late February as part of their practice match schedule.
