Former Carlton and Brisbane midfielder Mitch Robinson will return to football with the Lauderdale Bombers in Tasmania in 2024.

The 33-year-old played 147 games in Lions colours after moving from Carlton at the conclusion of the 2014 season, the club where he played 100 games.

Robinson was a joint winner of Brisbane's best and fairest award in 2015, his first year at the club, going on to become a fan favourite throughout his career. The popular footballer would eventually fall out of favour in Chris Fagan's side and retire at the end of 2022.

Since wrapping up his AFL career, Robinson has spent time with the Darwin Buffaloes in the NTFL and the Morningside Panthers in the QAFL.

Robinson will now head home to Tasmania to join the Lauderdale Bombers where he played prior to his AFL career. In 2008, the midfielder played two games for the Bombers before participating in the under-18's championships.

He won't be the only AFL footballer relocating to Lauderdale this off-season, with former GWS, Carlton and Essendon ruckman Andrew Phillips also set to join the Bombers.

He'll now look to bring further AFL experience to Lauderdale, with former Geelong and Brisbane midfield-forward Allen Christensen the Bombers' player-coach along with Phillips.

The Bombers recorded six wins from their 18 matches this year, finishing sixth on the TSL ladder.
