Former Geelong listed forward Cam Taheny is one of five new additions to Adelaide's SANFL list as the Crows bolster their stocks for 2025.

Taheny spent two years at Geelong after being drafted with Pick 50 in the 2019 National Draft but could not break through for senior selection in a star-studded Cats forward line.

The 23-year-old returned to junior club Norwood after being delisted at the end of 2021, where he played 14 senior games as he struggled with injury issues.

The Crows have also signed 18-year-old Sturt utility Ned Atkinson, who featured for South Australia at this year's U18 National Championships and played three reserves games for the Double Blues.

The son of former Crows player Brodie, Atkinson starred at SANFL U18 level this year, kicking 21 goals from nine games while averaging 14 disposals and five marks per game.

2024 SANFL reserves leading goalkicker Tommy McCormack will also join the Crows' list next season, crossing from Sturt after a stellar campaign.

Former Sturt midfielder Will Crane will return to the SANFL with Adelaide next year after spending the 2024 season with Imperials in the River Murray Football League.

Crane played two league games and 54 reserves games with the Double Blues, averaging 15 disposals and five tackles per game in the seconds in 2023.ย

The Crows have also targeted ruck depth, signing former Central District junior and Willaston premiership big man Saxon Evans.

Adelaide's SANFL coach Matthew Wright praised his new signings and anticipates they will all add something to the Crows' squad in 2025.

โ€œAll five players offer something different, but they all share common traits that we are looking to add to our SANFL squad being talent, commitment and a desire to improve,โ€ Wright said.

Perhaps Adelaide's biggest coup of the summer is an off-field signing, with the announcement that recently retired Norwood champion Matt Panos will join the club as a SANFL development coach.

Panos played 150 SANFL games with the Redlegs, winning the 2014 Jack Oatey Medal and earning selection in the SANFL Team of the Year on three occasions.

Meanwhile, Adelaide has announced that 2024 SANFL-listed players Jacob Templeton, Jarman Sigal, Sam Daniele and Josh Smithson will depart the club.

Wright thanked the outgoing players and noted their efforts in ensuring the club remained competitive in recent years.

โ€œWe'd like to thank Jacob, Jarman, Sam and Josh for their contribution to our SANFL program,โ€ Wright said.

โ€œAll four have made a positive contribution to our Club over the past three years and their efforts have ensured we have remained competitive at SANFL level over a number of seasons.โ€
