Retired premiership Cat Harry Taylor is the latest former Geelong champion linked to a return to Kardinia Park in a coaching capacity.
Taylor called time on his 280-game career with Geelong at the end of last season, making a return to his home state of Western Australia.
The 35-year-old returned to Geraldton and took on the reins as the Great Northern Football League operations manager before a stint with WAFL side East Fremantle in the latter end of this season.
The two-time All-Australian defender has now been rumoured to make a potential return to Victoria and rejoin the Cats' transformed coaching staff.
Speaking on Triple M, reporter Damian Barrett revealed Taylor's services have been murmured to make a return to Geelong.
"I wouldn't be totally surprised if Harry Taylor made an appearance back there," Barrett said
"I know he returned he Perth this year after playing in the grand final of 2020.
"Some talk around that he may be part of the new-look Geelong assistant coaching ranks."
Geelong have seen assistant coaches Corey Enright, Matthew Scarlett and Matthew Knights leave in the wake of their preliminary final defeat to Melbourne, while departing CEO Brain Cook has ventured to Carlton.
The Cats announced earlier this week that triple premiership midfielder James Kelly has returned to the club as an assistant coach, while incoming chief executive Steve Hocking is tipped to officially return to the club later this week.
