Former West Coast player Mitch Brown is looking to resurrect his AFL career and is set to nominate for this year's National Draft.
Brown was delisted at the end of last year, after 94 games in nine seasons with the Eagles.
The 28-year-old enjoyed a stellar season in the Victorian Amateur Football Association for St Kevin's, playing in the midfield, rather than in defence where he played most of his footy for West Coast.
The Herald Sun reports Brown's form, which included a second-place finish in the VAFA best and fairest and best on ground in the Grand Final, has attracted the interest of several clubs, prompting him to nominate for the draft.
Brown suffered several serious injuries during his time at West Coast, including two knee reconstructions and a torn finger tendon in his final three seasons, but said he has a renewed love for the game.
"This year was the one of the most enjoyable years of footy I have had. I think the midfield role in the back half of the season really gave me a new lease on life," Brown told the Herald Sun.
"I have loved my move back to Melbourne and I'm really content with everything if I don't get another chance (at AFL) that's fine. I love my job."
He enjoyed his best best seasons in 2013 and '14, where he played 19 games in both years.
