Former Collingwood forward Nick Davis has been linked to the vacant senior coaching role with the Magpies' AFLW program.
Davis is currently a senior assistant with Sydney's AFLW group and has held a variety of roles at the club, working as a men's development coach, goalkicking specialist, and coaching both the male and female academy programs.
The premiership Swan was appointed as senior coach Scott Gowan's right-hand man in the coaches box, with the 43-year-old now said to be exploring the vacant senior coaching role at Collingwood following Steve Symonds' recent departure.
According to News Corp, Davis is among the names in contention to succeed Symonds at Olympic Park as the Magpies look to find their third AFLW senior coach since their inception.
Alongside former North Melbourne player Sam Wright, Davis is in the mix for the Magpies job and could return to the club he joined as a father-son selection 25 years ago.
Following in the footsteps of his father Craig, Davis pulled on the black and white stripes on 71 occasions before moving to the Swans ahead of the 2003 season, where he would play a role in the club's drought-breaking premiership win in 2005.
Davis brings 168 games of AFL experience and has also held coaching roles with NRL clubs Cronulla and the Sydney Roosters, offering his expertise as an efficient goalkicker.
Collingwood's AFLW side is looking to bounce back from a five-win season that saw the Magpies finish 11th under Symonds, with the Victorians one of three clubs seeking a new coach.
Following West Coast's appointment of Daisy Pearce, the Magpies are joined by Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs in needing to fill senior coaching roles for the 2024 season.
