Former Collingwood forward Nathan Kreuger has signed with local Geelong club Grovedale on top of his VFL listing at the Cats for the 2025 season.
The Pies delisted Kreuger at the end of the 2024 season, and will be reunited with Geelong's VFL side in the upcoming campaign.
The 25-year-old has also signed with the Tigers in the Barwon Football Netball League, linking up with former Geelong teammate Ryan Abbott.
Grovedale coach Jake Spolding understands that Kreguer has VFL commitments and is unlikely to feature for the local club.
"Obviously he has Geelong VFL commitments and inside and around that he will be involved, which is great for us as a footy club. We are really excited to have him on board," Spolding said, according to the Herald Sun.
Kreuger is earmarked to assist the club in a coaching capacity, but could also help improve the club on its ninth-place finish in 2024.
"He is really keen to invest in the coaching space, so he will have some areas of footy club working with certain players – whether it is in the women's team, whether it is in the junior team, whether it is in the senior team, as much or as little as he wants," Spolding added.
"I think he will add great flexibility if he does happen to play for us. He can play at either end as a key defender/key forward, he can probably realistically play as an on-baller as well the way he moves and the size of him."
Kreuger played two games for Geelong's AFL team in 2021 before being traded to Collingwood.
The mobile forward battled persistent injuries and managed to add another 13 games in the black and white before his time came to an end.
