Former Collingwood utility and West Coast WAFL vice-captain Trey Ruscoe has departed the Eagles to join the South Fremantle Bulldogs for the 2025 WAFL season.

Ruscoe played 18 games across four seasons at the Magpies before being delisted after the 2023 season. The 23-year-old then made the move west to sign with West Coast's WAFL side, where he was appointed vice-captain.

The 193cm unit averaged a tick under a goal per game and 15.2 disposals in his sole season at the Eagles, however played a crucial part in snapping the WAFL side's extended losing streak, kicking three goals against the previous reigning premiers East Fremantle.

Ruscoe was also selected to play in a state-league clash for WA against South Australia's top talents in a one-off match at Optus Stadium.

The Bulldogs said Ruscoe's signing was the final missing piece needed ahead of their 2025 campaign.

"South Fremantle have finalised the last piece of the 2025 list puzzle, welcoming former Collingwood and West Coast utility Trey Ruscoe to the Bulldogs for the 2025 season," the club statement said.

"The 193cm & 92kg Ruscoe will slot into the team perfectly bringing his experience and versatility to an already strong squad."

South Fremantle finished sixth in 2024, recording 10 wins and a draw from 18 games.

Round 1 of the WAFL season begins in the first weekend of April, with Ruscoe to take on his former club in Round 5.
