Former North Melbourne senior coach David Noble has joined the board of the AFL Coaches' Association.
Noble coached 38 games throughout his two-year stint at North Melbourne, winning just five games and being sacked midway through the 2022 season.
He has had success as a football administrator, with his stint as football boss at Brisbane and in various roles at Adelaide giving him significant credentials.
Noble replaces fellow veteran football administrator Geoff Walsh, who was recently appointed as the Executive General Manager of Football at St Kilda.
AFL Coaches Association Chairman Greg Nichols was complimentary of Noble's skillset and thankful to Walsh for his contributions to the Board.
“David brings a wealth of knowledge about AFL coaching and football department management to the Board. He has lived through the highs and lows of coaching in the most competitive sporting environment in Australia and will provide valuable insights on the management of the game and coaching profession,” Nichols said in a club statement.
“David has covered the full gamut of the profession, from managing football departments to taking on the enormous responsibilities of a senior coach. I am delighted he has agreed to join the Board.
“I would also like to pay tribute to Geoff. He is one of Australia's most accomplished sporting administrators and his contributions around the Board table will be missed. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours.”
Noble most recently took part in the football department review at St Kilda in the wake of their 2022 campaign.
