Glenelg recruit and former Sydney Swans defender Will Gould has been handed a two-game suspension for a high bump in the SANFL over the weekend.

The third-term incident sees Gould collect West Adelaide opponent Sam Frost seconds after the Bloods player gathered possession, with Gould seemingly bracing for contact in a bumping position.

The collision saw the officiating umpire pay high contact against Gould, who floored Frost in the process before West Adelaide players remonstrated with the 23-year-old.

The SANFL's Match Review Panel have since slapped Gould with a two-game suspension, judging the ex-Swan's actions careless conduct, high contact and high impact.

Gould and Glenelg can choose to contest the charge and the MRP's findings at the SANFL Tribunal this week.

Should the penalty be accepted by the Tigers and their key position star, Gould will miss upcoming matches against Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens, with a return scheduled for Round 14 against Port Adelaide at Alberton Oval.

Gould returned to The Bay this year after four seasons with the Sydney Swans, who drafted him out of Glenelg in 2019 with Pick 26.

The key defender made his debut last year in Sydney's Gather Round clash against Richmond, with Gould breaking into John Longmire's side after three years at the state league level.

Gould played a further three games last year - his last coming in Round 10 - before being delisted by the club at the cessation of the side's finals run.

The 191cm swingman has featured in defence and as a forward for the Tigers this year while also pinch-hitting in the ruck to average 11.4 disposals, 4.4 marks and 2.8 tackles from his nine matches for Glenelg this season.
