Former AFL player Trent Dennis-Lane has joined GWS as a development coach after coaching stints in both the VFL and Coates Talent League.

Dennis-Lane played 29 games for Sydney and St Kilda across five years after being taken with Pick 55 in the 2009 National Draft.

The medium-sized forward was delisted by the Saints at the end of the 2014 season, taking up a career in coaching.

Dennis-Lane spent time at the Sandringham Zebras (2015-2016) as a playing-coaching as well as the East Brighton Vampires (2017-2019).

The former Saint reunited with his old club, taking up a role in the Next Generation Academy (NGA) program, where he spent three years developing the youthful talent.

Most recently, Dennis-Lane spent time coaching the Western Jets in the Coates Talent League before making the switch to GWS ahead of the 2025 season.

Giants EGM of Football Jason McCartney welcomed Dennis-Lane to the club.

"Trent comes to us with a great resume and a wealth of experience working with the best young talent in the country, and we see him as the perfect fit for this role," McCartney said.

"Bringing a quality person into our program like Trent will only further benefit our players and their development.

"We're excited to welcome Trent and his partner Nina back to Sydney and to our Giants family."
