Former Melbourne and Port Adelaide midfielder Jimmy Toumpas has returned to Victoria for 2024, signing with Central Murray Football Netball League club Swan Hill.
Toumpas recently announced his retirement from the SANFL after five seasons with Woodville-West Torrens, leaving the Eagles with three premierships to his name after first winning a flag with the club in 2011.
The former No.4 draft selection played 37 AFL games between 2013-2018, crossing from the Demons to Alberton at the end of the 2015 season after 27 matches in the red and blue.
Toumpas would be delisted by the Power at the end of 2018 before making his return to Woodville-West Torrens.
The next chapter in the South Australian's career will see the onballer head to Swan Hill in Victoria's north, with the club announcing the addition of the 30-year-old this week.
"We are excited to kick off the new year with our newest recruit, Jimmy Toumpas," a club post read.
"We are super pumped to get someone of Jimmy's calibre onboard with us for season 2024!
"Jimmy comes to us after a career in the AFL with Melbourne and Port Adelaide and most recently with SANFL club, Woodville West Torrens!
"Jimmy is a classy midfielder who will add great polish and class with ball in hand. He will also offer great leadership to our young players!
"Join us in giving Toump a warm welcome to the Swans!"
Swan Hill finished seventh in the CMFNL in 2023, winning nine of their 16 matches.
