WAFL club West Perth has confirmed the return of recently delisted West Coast defender Josh Rotham for the 2025 season.

The 26-year-old lands back at the Falcons eight years after being drafted to the AFL out of the club's junior pathways.

The Whitford product remained in Western Australia thanks to the Eagles' selection, which came 37th overall in the 2016 count.

Rotham was made to wait for his debut, which came against Collingwood early into the 2019 campaign. He played four games that year and showed promise as a mobile medium-sized backman.

The defender played a further 10 games the year after before a career-high 19 games in 2021.

Rotham played 13 games in each of the past three seasons as he began to fall out of favour at the senior level.

He was delisted by the Eagles at the cessation of the recent season, ending his career with 72 games to his name.

Rotham fetched interest from Essendon shortly after his West Coast exit but has landed with West Perth for next year.

The signing is the first major addition for the Falcons, who have also added Blake Waight, Mitch Peirce, Roan Steele and Matthew McKenzie to their list.

West Perth recorded four wins from 18 games in the WAFL this year, only avoiding the wooden spoon by percentage.
