Richmond has locked away Shane Edwards until the end of 2019.
Edwards, who was due to become a restricted free agent after his current contract expired at the end of 2016, signed a three-year contract extension with the Tigers.
He has kicked 114 goals in 168 games since being selected with pick No. 26 in the 2006 National Draft.
