On the morning of Saturday's grand final, some of the AFL's best kicks will gather at Birrarung Marr at the Yarra River, to determine once and for all who has the longest kick in our game.

After bombing a ball 72.3m in last year's edition, Carlton midfielder Bryce Gibbs will be back to defend his crown, and will be challenged by no fewer than 11 other competitors.

Gibbs' challengers come from a range of different areas, with past and present AFL stars invited to participate, as well as a pair of the AFLW's best, plus a local football wildcard.

Dustin Fletcher and Brendon Fevola are the two retirees who have been given a chance to show they can still match it with the current-day players, and given their highlight reels during their playing days, they're both a chance to take out the Longest Kick crown.

Katie Brennan and Sarah Perkins are the AFLW representatives, and after a successful AFLW campaign for League football, the pair would no doubt love to add another string to their bows.

Gibbs' main AFL challengers include the likes of Jayden Hunt, Matthew Suckling and Josh Kennedy, who will all be vying for the third ever Longest Kick crown!
