Footy fans have been granted free entry into the 2022 AFLW preliminary finals round, with the MCG and Adelaide Oval hosting the two deciding fixtures.
The Demons will host Brisbane in Melbourne next Saturday, April 2 at 12:40pm AEDT, while the Dockers will travel to South Australia to face the minor premiers Adelaide at 2:40pm AEDT the same day.
The winners from both matches will clash in the 2022 AFLW Grad Final on Saturday, April 9, with the venue dependent on the higher-finishing victor from the preliminary finals round.
The AFL revealed the following details for next week's events:
“Congratulations to all teams who have progressed through to the Preliminary Finals. We cannot wait to see a history-making match at the MCG between Melbourne and the Brisbane Lions and what shapes up to be a fierce clash at Adelaide Oval between the Adelaide Crows and Fremantle,” AFL General Manager Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone said in a league statement.
“We want as many football supporters as possible to attend the matches at the MCG and Adelaide Oval next weekend and, with thanks to Telstra, we have made entry to those matches free for all footy fans to say thank you for their continued support of the NAB AFLW Competition this season.
“We acknowledge and commend all those involved in the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Competition for the role they continue to play this season; Clubs, players and the AFLPA, umpires, venues, governments, ticket agents, supporters and our broadcast and commercial partners.”
Every finals game will be broadcasted live on Channel 7, while free tickets will be required to be redeemed for the game at the MCG.
Fans attending the Adelaide Oval final will not be required to redeem a ticket, but proof of vaccination will be required on entry.
