Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir has admitted one thing he doesn't stand for as a coach.
And that's players being too concerned with their own stats rather than implementing the team game.
Following a 92-point dismantling of Melbourne before the bye, the Dockers returned from the week off with a full head of steam but were quickly brought back to the earth after being stunned under the roof at Marvel Stadium by the Western Bulldogs.
Smashed by 11 goals, Longmuir was eager to head to the drawing board to "pick up trends" in the club's game, noting that too many individuals were interested in their own performance.
"I don't even look at the stat sheet, even in our game," Longmuir admitted on Thursday.
"We look at all aspects of their role but there was no doubt in the seniors on the weekend that guys were worried about how many possessions they got then how they competed in the contest. How they pressured the opposition and how they defended.
"That's not what I stand for as a coach."
Sitting 8th on the ladder, Longmuir has seen the absolute best of the Dockers but also the worst in its 13 outings (7-1-5), experiencing an inconsistent first half of the 2024 season.
However, despite the external noise that condemns Longmuir's placid demeanour, the Fremantle coach is "confident" that the club is, holistically, on the improve.
"I don't get caught up in things that happen once or twice," Longmuir continued.
"I get criticised at times for being calm and composed... I don't react to one performance. Just like I didn't react to the Melbourne game, I am not reacting to this one.
"It's a body of work (we're looking at)... we pick up trends of our game and clearly some players got some things wrong on the weekend which contributed to us getting a lot wrong.
"But I don't think it'll take much for us to realign.
"Two games ago we had a 92-point win so I'm confident we can turn it around."
Longmuir also confirmed that the Dockers "dodged a bullet" with utility Heath Chapman, who was tasked with running with Marcus Bontempelli but was a late out with hamstring awareness.
Chapman is expected to run out on Sunday when Fremantle host Gold Coast at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
Veteran forward Michael Walters has been ruled out for at least three weeks with his own hamstring injury, with replacements Cooper Simpson and Tom Emmett in line as a replacement.
Midfielder Hayden Young also looks set to go despite rolling his ankle late in the loss to the Bulldogs.
Final teams are released on Thursday at 6:20 pm AEST.
