Fremantle have reportedly joined GWS in their interest for Hawthorn midfielder Jaeger O'Meara.

The Dockers are set to make a late play for the 28-year-old Western Australian, according to reports from News Corp, with the Hawks star entering free agency at the end of 2023.

Hawthorn moved Jack Gunston on Tuesday and are still looking to facilitate a trade for Brownlow medallist Tom Mitchell. Should the Hawks pursue a full rebuild, O'Meara could be the next to move clubs.

Fremantle currently holds Picks 44, 67, and 76, but are also involved with Hawthorn in talks with ruckman Lloyd Meek.

The Giants, who are also interested in O'Meara, hold a stronger draft hand, including Picks 15, 18, and 19.

O'Meara is also known to be close friends with Giants co-captain Stephen Coniglio, which could influence his decision to move north from the Hawks.

The experienced midfielder averaged 20.3 disposals and 5.1 clearances a game in 2022, playing in 21 matches.
