Fremantle gun Andrew Brayshaw has penned a new four-year contract extension with the Dockers following a sensational season in the purple.

The deal will keep the 21-year-old in Perth until the end of the 2025 season after already being committed to the club for next season.

Brayshaw took major strides in 2020, elevating to a more senior role in Justin Longmuir's engine room alongside Nat Fyfe and fellow 2017 first-round pick Adam Cerra.

Speaking toย fremantlefc.com.au, Brayshaw expressed his delight to sign a new deal with the Dockers.

โ€œWe have a really young group who have gelled together over the past couple of years and I think weโ€™re heading in the right direction,โ€ Brayshaw said.

โ€œItโ€™s exciting to see some of the young players stepping up. Weโ€™ve got some really good leadership and I think the clubโ€™s in a good space at the moment with the (off-field) roles that weโ€™ve filled over the last few years.

โ€œIf we can keep this group together and heading in the right direction for the next five years, itโ€™s really exciting about where we could get.

โ€œI can see us pushing towards finals and, ultimately, winning a premiership. Thatโ€™s definitely my goal.โ€

Brayshaw added that he hadn't given a thought to the idea of moving home to Victoria and stated his excitement for the future.

โ€œIt really wasnโ€™t (a hard decision), Iโ€™ve been here for the last three years and Iโ€™ve put some good roots down here,โ€ Brayshaw said.

โ€œIโ€™ve got a good connection of friends and luckily enough, I have some family over here as well. My partnerโ€™s just moved over too, sheโ€™s loving it over here which makes things very easy.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m very excited about the direction the club is heading in and I think you guys should be, too,โ€ Brayshaw said.

โ€œWeโ€™ve got a dedicated group of players that all really want to succeed as much as you. Hang with us and Iโ€™m sure weโ€™ll be seeing success very soon.โ€
