Fremantle got their season off to a flyer, downing 2023 Grand Finalists Brisbane by 23 points.
Despite waking up on Monday with a win, all eyes turn to the injury carnage that occurred at Optus Stadium, with a trio of players pulled from the match.
Karl Worner (concussion), Oscar McDonald (knee) and Brennan Cox (hamstring) all went down before the final siren, with the Dockers expecting them to miss a significant amount of football.
Worner will likely enter mandatory concussion protocols after being knocked out following an accidental collision with Lion forward Lincoln McCarthy during the third quarter.
The 21-year-old will sit out for at least 12 days per the AFL's rules but could be out for longer given the severity of the clash.
Worner was stretchered from the field and was seen smiling after the game in positive news for the Dockers.
However, Cox and McDonald are set for large chunks of time on the sidelines, especially the latter.
The former Demon and Carlton defender went down late in the third term after an awkward landing from a marking contest.
Helped from the field by club medicos, McDonald immediately clutched at his left knee following the incident, with fears it could be an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear.
And to make matters worse, defender-turned-forward Cox looks to have done his hamstring.
In a third and final serious injury on the night for the Dockers, the number 36 was seen visibly distressed early in the final quarter.
Cox was on the lead before reaching for the football, over-extending himself and instantly grabbing at his right hamstring.
The trifecta of injuries put a dampener on what was an impressive performance by Justin Longmuir's team, who completely outplayed the Lions.
Champion midfielder Nat Fyfe might have found himself in hot water, following an incident in the first quarter with the opposition's Jarryd Lyons.
Fyfe opted to go past the ball during the opening bounce of the game, clipping Lyons high with his hip.
Despite not receiving a free-kick, Lyons immediately came from the ground with blood from his head.
Club legend Matthew Pavlich spoke during Fox Footy's coverage that the two-time Brownlow Medallist could have to answer for his actions.
"His back doing what he does best but this one here, he's got a bit to worry about, perhaps
"Looked clumsy to me. I think (the argument) will be he wasn't looking where he was going in the end and maybe insufficient force."
