Both Western Australian sides and multiple Melbourne clubs are understood to be showing some level of interest in young Suns flanker Jeremy Sharp this off-season.

Sharp is contracted to Gold Coast until the end of next year and has played 23 games for the Queensland club since joining them as a second-round selection in the 2019 National Draft.

The 20-year-old played 12 games in 2022, falling out of Stuart Dew's side on five occasions while being an unused medical sub in two appearances.

Late-season injuries to the likes of Lachie Weller, Charlie Ballard and Wil Powell opened opportunties for Sharp in the latter end of the year, with the utility impressing at both senior and VFL level in his time with the Suns.

Sharp has shared his trade with Gold Coast as a flank option at either end of the ground and has thrived in a running defensive role when called upon.

The East Fremantle product averaged just the 9.75 touches at AFL level, but was a proven ball-winner in his side's deep VFL finals push this year where he recorded 27 disposals, 7.9 marks and 5.5 inside 50s per game.

His place on the periphery of Dew's side has seemingly piqued interest from rival clubs, with Fremantle and West Coast reportedly hopeful of prying the young Sun back to his home state.

According to The Herald Sun, Sharp has gained interest from both WA sides and a number of Victorian clubs despite his contract status for next season, with the Suns facing surging external interest for several of their own players.

Small forward Izak Rankine is destined to land at Adelaide after recently requesting a trade to West Lakes, while midfielder Brayden Fiorini and forward Josh Corbett have garnered reported interest from Collingwood and Fremantle respectively.

The Suns have shown an interest of their own in Dogs dasher Jason Johannisen and Bombers skipper Dyson Heppell this season as they plan to add experience to their squad for 2023.
