Two key Fremantle players in ruckman Sean Darcy and veteran Michael Walters risk missing games on the sidelines due to injuries picked up in the Dockers' Round 2 loss to St Kilda.

The timing of the injuries means Freo will likely be without both players in the upcoming western derby against the Eagles on Sunday.

Darcy sustained an injury to his right ankle during the third quarter of his side's loss to the Saints. Although he tried to make a return, the injury proved too much for the ruckman and was substituted shortly after coming back on. Darcy will undergo scans to determine the severity of the injury.

Walters suffered damage to his left wrist while attempting to tackle Saints midfielder Bradley Hill just before half-time. Although he played out the match, the 32-year-old looked in major discomfort throughout the rest of the game.

After sustaining the injury, Walters had very little impact on the game, only managing three possessions and one behind for the second half. The veteran is set for scans on Monday, according to The West Australian.

With the pair liekly sidelined, top 10 pick Neil Erasmus could be one to look out for in terms of selection.

The young gun played a standout performance for Peel Thunder in the WAFL during a scratch match, while Joel Western kicked three goals in the same game, standing out as another potential option to fill in the boots of the inured Freo stars.

Veteran David Mundy and defender Brennan Cox are still uncertain to return against West Coast in Round 3, while forward Matt Taberner is potentially ready to make his return from a hamstring injury.

The string of setbacks compound Justin Longmuir's injury headaches, having already lost captain Nat Fyfe for the coming weeks with a back injury.
