Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir said there's no reason to "panic" as the club gave up another five-goal deficit early in games in successive weeks.
Longmuir's men found themselves down by 33 points against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium during the second quarter, with the home side carving up the visitors under the roof.
The Dockers found themselves in a similar position in Round 1 against Brisbane, trailing by four goals in the opening term before turning their fortunes around.
Longmuir admitted that last week was a result of bad decisions, whereas the Kangaroos were at a level early that Fremantle couldn't match.
"I was pleased with the way the players kept their heads, cause at times, and on reflection, it could've been a game we lost last year," Longmuir said post-game.
"It is a sign of maturity, learning from our lessons of last year. The amount of work we've done on scenarios over the pre-season, communication, connection, leadership, and mental game, to be able to put bad moments behind us.
"Last week it seemed like we just cost ourselves goals... this week we just weren't up to the contest initially, so we'll review that.
"But certainly don't want to panic about our starts. For me, it's one poor start but we were able to adjust on the run."
The Dockers' comeback was largely responsible to the midfield brigade, led by ruckman Luke Jackson.
In the absence of Sean Darcy, Jackson showed why the club parted ways with two first-round picks to get him.
The former Demon dominated through the centre, gathering 24 disposals and slotting two goals in a best-on-ground performance.
"Xerri is a good ruck and there was a real arm wrestle but 'Jacko' just keeps on turning up," Longmuir said.
"Whether it was the aerial contests, ruck contests or at ground level where he has a real opportunity to impact the game.
"If he keeps staying in the moment, he can cause headaches up forward and has provided highlights the last couple of weeks.
Jackson was joined by Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong, who lifted their outputs in the second half to will their side over the line.
With Fremantle sitting 2-0, the club will head back to WA and host a winless Adelaide side at Optus Stadium.
