Frontrunners in each statistical metric ahead of the final round of the season

With one round to go in the 2024 home & away season, it's time to wrap our heads around who will go down as the most prolific players in each statistic metric for the year.

Only goals are recognised with an end-of-season honour; the Coleman Medal, while the rest of forgotten in the realms of history.

Award winners such as the Brownlow Medallist, AFLCA award winner, AFLPA award winner, All-Australian members and more typically feature prominently on the stat sheet, so the following stats give somewhat of an indication as to the individual seasons of some.

Some players have locked away particular metrics for good, others hold a firm lead but could be challenged by a miraculous Round 24 performance from a fellow contender. A fair few a damn close and will come down to the final weekend to decide a winner.

Starting with the most important of all stats, it appears Jesse Hogan has all but locked away the Coleman, given he already leads by 10 and should add to his tally in the final round also.

Curnow's chances seem shot as he battles injury but an 11-goal haul isn't beyond him. Jeremy Cameron's tally of 49 is an unfortunate reality as he prepares to play West Coast at home, where any margin under than 15 goals would have the footy world watching.

Adam Treloar's place a-top the disposal tally is under threat from two in-form Giants, who each sit five touches behind him. The two sides meet this weekend in the most anticipated match of the round.

One of Isaac Heeney or Errol Gulden will need a historic performance at home against Adelaide to even up the disparity of 16 score involvements with leader Marcus Bontempelli, both sit on 166 to Bont's 182.

Nick Daicos will need to collect 33 contested possessions and somehow have Patrick Cripps held to zero to chase down that inside bull stat.

Tristan Xerri's had a stellar year with prolific performances, but 101 hitouts in a single match might be a stretch too far to reach Reilly O'Brien.

Jesse Hogan has emerged as the most dominant key forward in the competition. It's hard to see Ben King clunk 16 marks inside 50 to overtake the likely Coleman Medallist but we'll wait and see.

Matt Rowell's tally of 175 tackles also seems safe, given he will likely add to it, but big Xerri is shadowing ominously with 170 to his name.
