Patrick Cripps is a free man and will be taking on Melbourne this Saturday night at the MCG.
After Carlton appealed the two-match ban, it was overturned last night. He will now be set to play the two biggest games of the season and have a chance to fulfil fans with hope for a finals run.
This decision woke up the AFL world later last night. As well as this morning for those who had fallen asleep by the time a decision could be made.
The AFL media circle has been producing content since, and here are some of the best bits.
Comedian and Baggers fan Andy Lee was one of the many people who couldn't believe how long the hearing was taking.
Just found this photo of Crippa finding out the tribunal result. pic.twitter.com/Yp3XSa0duy

It does not stop here, though, with fans not holding back.
The year is 2040, Sam Docherty’s son/daughter has just debuted for Carlton. Patrick Cripps still isn’t sure whether he can play in R22, 2022 yet.

Imagine if the Cripps appeal wrapped up an hour ago and old mate just forgot to turn his screen back on

We're now 90 minutes into deliberation. Read into that what you will, although you'd think Cripps' case is getting plenty of consideration. Either that or the three men making the decision are having a nap. It's already past my bed-time.

Essendon might win a final by the time the Patrick Cripps tribunal verdict is in.

Once it was announced that Cripps was free to play, the AFL world blew up.
This pretty much summed up what everyone was thinking...
holy fucking shit

It was an overwhelming joy for Blues fans, who now have their finals dreams almost in reach.
How to bottle tears of salty opposition fans

Good morning to everyone, especially Crippas Barrister, Christopher Townshend. pic.twitter.com/Z9dlpXZJVb

I literally just got off a plane in Amsterdam and someone came up to me in the customs line and said “Cripps got off!”
The 99.5% of people who weren’t from australia were very confused.

However, some weren't as pleased with the decision and could not believe it was overturned.
So let me get this straight.
Maynard does spoil the ball the collects Lloyd with a glancing blow…
Concussed.
2 weeksCripps no attempt to spoil.
Shoulder straight into Ah Chee’s head.
Concussed.
Cripps gets off.Makes perfect sense… pic.twitter.com/vuYkcX2m7r

Cripps gets 0 because the AFL can’t present information legally. Who’s accountable for this? Does the AFL appeal this decision as it did Toby Greene?
Cripps concusses a player, electing to bump, and gets off through legal technicality, no question of culpability.
Game is lost. https://t.co/toNi3C8jLS

This is just another example of the @AFL's agenda against richmond. It's corrupt.
How does Pickett get a week for a fair shepherd, stays grounded the whole time, get's the hawks player in the side?
But cripps gets off after jumping up and knocking the BL player into next week. https://t.co/YETTpccHXT

With Cripps free, there is only more pressure building. Can the Blues follow through with the same determination that Townshend had last night?
